The SeaFrance strike is over.
The company’s ships had been at a standstill for the last five days after French union members staged a strike over the introduction of new working practices.
Originally planned as a 48-hour stoppage, it was extended several times, with the action finally being called off at 8am this morning.
It is estimated that the strike has cost the company around £1 million, with thousands of customers being transferred to other operators for their cross-Channel sailings.
