WHEN Gordon Lovelock’s beloved dog Chappie went missing from close to his home, he didn’t give up hope of finding him.
For weeks the 75-year-old retired construction worker from Littlebourne went out three times a day looking for the black and tan cross-breed.
He has searched all over the village and neighbouring Wingham, stuck up posters and put Chappie’s photo on the internet.
But Mr Lovelock says he has “heard not whisper” since Chappie went missing on November 24.
“I’ve given up all hope now of ever seeing him again,” he said. “This was the first Christmas I had without him for a long time, it was very upsetting. He was a great friend of mine.”
Mr Lovelock was widowed 15 years ago and has been living with Chappie in Nargate Street for the last 10 years.
On the day Chappie went missing, Mr Lovelock took him out for his regular walk in Littlebourne.
Chappie ran off and was not seen again.
