Search is on for Miss Herne Bay

Do you fancy representing your town at carnivals and civic events this year?

Are you over 15 and living in Herne Bay?

If so, get down to the Kings Hall on Good Friday for the crowning of the 2009 Herne Bay carnival court.

Any girl aged 15 or above and living locally is eligible for the title.

The selection dance is traditionally held on Easter Saturday but has this year been brought forward 24 hours.

As well as made-to-measure dresses from Attractions Bridal Studio, also up for grabs are Wildwood and Kavanagh Cinema passes, gifts from a number of town outlets, and a professional portrait sitting at Style Photography.

Herne Bay Carnival Association chairman Andy Birkett paid tribute to the departing trio.

He said: "Miss Herne Bay 2008 Emma Foster and her princesses Hannah Kemp and Charlotte Farrant have proved to be great ambassadors for the town in which they live."

The selection dance will begin at 7.30pm. Entry forms can be picked up from Style Photography at 71 High Street, online at www.hernebay

carnival.co.uk or by calling Kate

Birkett on 01227 364836.
