A second person has been arrested after a teenage boy was attacked by a dog.

Liam Monks , 13, was playing football with friends at the Garrison Sports Ground, in Gillingham, when he was leapt on by a Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog that bit a chunk out of his leg.

The Robert Napier School pupil had to have counselling after the incident, which left him unable to sleep and suffering flashbacks.

A 15-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of failing to control a dog in a public place, was released on bail until next Tuesday.

A dog seized at the same time is still in the care of police.

On Friday, police arrested a 43-year-old man, from Gillingham, on suspicion of failing to control a dog in a public place.

The dog bit Liam on the back of his leg - with its jaws locking for round 15 seconds - at about 3.40pm on Wednesday, December 29.
