A YOUNG thief who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to vehicles in station car parks has now banned from every one of them in the country.

Edward Webb, 22, is responsible for the misery of dozens of commuters whose cars were broken into and expensive equipment stolen.

He left his victims a trail of destruction - and an estimated £34,000 bill for the smashed up cars and stolen items including sat-navs, mobiles and car stereos.

Jobless Webb was caught in the act with a glass hammer and admitted a string of car break-ins at some of Bromley's station car parks.

He blamed the summer crime wave on hearing voices telling him to commit crime.

District Judge Quentin Purdy handed Webb a two-year supervision order barring from every station car park in England and Wales and sentenced him to a 20-week jail term, suspended for two years, at City of Westinster Magistrates' Court.

Webb of Undershaw Road, Downham, pleaded guilty to five counts of theft and five of attempted theft and confessed to 46 other vehicle offences at other stations which were taken into consideration.
