Sex attack on woman walking alone

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault on a 41-year-old woman.

The victim was on her own in Beverley Road, Barnehurst, in Bexley borough, between 7am and 8am on Monday when she was attacked.

Her attacker approached her near the junction of Northall Road and sexually assaulted her before fleeing towards Westfield Road.

He was in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 6in tall and of medium build. He was wearing brown trousers, a dark hooded top and white trainers.

Det Con Steve Edwards, from Bexley police, said: "It is possible the attacker was coming from the direction of Barnehurst BR Station. If you were in the area and witnessed the assault or saw anyone fitting the description of the attacker please call the Bexley Sapphire Unit on 0208 284 9261/9262."
