A prisoner awaiting sentence for possessing indecent images of children has been found dead in his cell.

Tarot Ambrose, 29, was found hanging in his cell at 3.15pm in HMP Elmley near Eastchurch on Thursday, April 9.

Staff attempted to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead three hours after he was found.

A prison service spokesman said: "As with all deaths in custody, the prisons and probation ombudsman will conduct an investigation."
