Firefighters 'flocked' to the rescue of a sheep that was stuck in the mud in Conyer near Sittingbourne this morning.

Specialist animal crews from Faversham and a water unit from Whitstable managed to get the animal to safety at Conyer Creek, at the back of North Quay.

They used inflatable paths which they put onto of the sinking mud to get to the sheep in the unusual rescue. It was eventually freed at around 8.30am.
