Is this the way to Amarillo? Who knows, it could be, judging by these road signs.

They were spotted by a motorist who stopped to take this picture as she was driving through Lidsing, near Gillingham.

Jenny Coxall was trying to find a quick route from Lordswood to Hempstead Valley and got a bit confused in Lidsing Road, when she came across these signs all pointing backwards.

Only one of the signs was facing the road for her to see and it was pointing in the wrong direction to Boxley.

Jenny said: “I had to laugh, I’m new in Medway and still trying to find my way around.”

Norman Bateman, head of technical services for Kent highway services, at Kent County Council, said: “We believe vandals are responsible for altering these signs, which is a very foolish thing to do. Kent highway services is concerned about road safety and keeping drivers moving from one place to another.

“This kind of action conflicts with what we are trying to do and we take a very dim view of it.”
