Gillingham are in reserve team action tonight with a game against Wycombe Wanderers.
The Gills suffered a 3-0 defeat in their last Combination League fixture but boss Andy Hessenthaler will be more interested in giving his fringe players minutes on the pitch.
Simon King (pictured) is expected to feature for the Gills after being held up in recent weeks with a hamstring injury.
He travelled with the Gills’ first team squad to Burton at the weekend and could get 90 minutes against Wycombe’s second string.
Luke Rooney and Josh Gowling are also expected to feature, while Dennis Oli will be seeking valuable match practice, as he steps up his fitness after recovering from his own hamstring woes.
The match will also give Hessenthaler and his coaching staff chance to assess his senior youth team players, who are due shortly to find out where their futures lie.
The match, which will be played at Burnham’s ground on the outskirts of Wycombe, kicks off at 7pm.
*Gillingham have confirmed a friendly match against Canterbury City at Herne Bay on Tuesday, April 12, kick-off 7.45pm. Tickets are priced £5 adults and £3 concessions.
