Gillingham keeper Simon Royce returns to action for the reserves on Wednesday afternoon as they host Eastbourne Borough at Priestfield in the Combination League.

Royce has been out for almost two months due to injuries he sustained in a car accident.

Before that he was the club's first-choice keeper and 90 minutes in the reserves should confirm his return to full fitness.

Gills boss Mark Stimson is likely to name a strong side with a number of out-of-favour players hoping to catch his eye.

Chris Palmer and John Nutter are both due to start along with midfielders Stuart Lewis and Adam Miller.

Danny Jackman will continue his return from injury in the game. Jackman came on in the second half of the goalless draw against Walsall on Saturday following a dislocated shoulder.
