A woman grieving over the death of her daughter stabbed her sister 27 times and left her to die in a field near their home in Chartham, a court heard today.

A couple out late at night on May 9 discovered the body of 51-year-old Karen Barton.

Phoebe Barton, 49, who lived with her sister in Highland Road, denies murder but admits manslaughter.

The trial continues.
