A three-day police crackdown in Paddock Wood resulted in drug seizures and six arrests.
The operation began on Wednesday August 26 as police - including 20 officers, drug dogs and a police licensing officer - executed warrants in Maidstone Road, where a 20-year-old man was arrested and later cautioned on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.
On the same day police seized suspected stolen property and arrested a man in his 40s at a public house in Church Road. The man, arrested on suspicion of theft and fraud offences relating to counterfeit currency, was later cautioned.
Further warrants were executed on Thursday in Maidstone Road, where drugs were seized and a man in his 40’s, a woman in her 40’s, and a man in his 20’s were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
All were given police bail for further inquiries to be made.
Searches were carried out at a shop and a warrant executed in Ewins Road, although no arrests were made.
On Friday, one warrant was executed in Queen's Street where property and cash was seized and a man in his 40s arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
He was still being held in custody on Friday.
The operation was coordinated by the local neighbourhood policing team.
Neighbourhood officer Sgt Ray Masters said: "The operation was very much about reacting to information people were giving us about criminal activity and the supply of drugs in the town.
"The neighbourhood team will take positive action when they receive information about what is happening in the community.
"The majority of people who live in Paddock Wood are keen to keep this a nice place and don’t want to be associated with criminality. We are going to carry on with operations like this to do all we can to keep the town the place people want it to be."
The police licensing officer will be meeting the owners of the public house in Church Road to discuss the management of the premises.
