IT'S official - the UK is Europe's biggest market for the Hyundai Coupe. Latest figures show that more Coupes have been snapped up here than in any other country in Europe.

Up to the end of December, some 5,000 had been sold around the UK, more than 1,800 more than the next closest territory. Next up was Spain with 3,223 sales, then Italy with 2,363.

Helen Draper, product manager, said: "We are delighted the Coupe has been such a big hit here in the UK. The sleek lines, good performance and excellent value for money clearly strike a chord with the UK buyer - we are confident more people will fall for the charm of the Hyundai Coupe in 2003."

The Coupe range kicks off with the £14,495 1.6S, continues with the £16,495 2.0 SE and culminates with the potent 165bhp, 136mph 2.7 V6 at £18,495. All prices are on the road.
