A Royal Python. Library picture
Dozens of Royal Python snakes stolen from a Sheerness shed are at risk of harm.
Police have appealed for information after 29 snakes (similar to the one pictured above) believed to be worth £20,000 were stolen from a home in St George's Avenue on Saturday.
Det Con Andrew Payne said: “We suspect that the person who has these snakes will try to sell them on, and I would appeal to anyone who is offered a snake for sale to contact us.
"The snakes don’t just have a very high monetary value, but they have significant sentimental value too.
"Additionally, the conditions in which the snakes should be housed are quite specific and harm could come to them if they are not looked after properly.”
