CINDERELLAS can now go to the ball and still be home before the clocks strike 12 thanks to a new dance night coming to Medway.
Mother Funkers is aimed at women who, through motherhood or other responsibilities are unable to get further than the kitchen floor if they fancy a boogie.
The night began in Brighton and is now being launched in Kent for the first time by Rochester mum Hannah Wait
Hannah, 37, said: "With nightclubs not opening their doors until after 10pm, there is nowhere for mums to go to have a good boogie.
"Mother Funkers is the early start/early finish dance night where women can dance part of the night away and be finished by 11.30pm, so that they can still be up with the lark - or the children - the next day.
"I used to go clubbing in my 20s and I really miss it. When I found out about Mother Funkers I thought it was a brilliant idea and I thought I can’t be the only mum in Medway who misses a good boogie."
Mother Funkers was created with mums and women in mind who enjoy dancing but want to avoid some of the others aspects of nightclubbing.
Hannah added: "The evening has a unique relaxed atmosphere. Men who arrive with female friends, and who are there to dance, are welcome but definitely not obligatory. Prowling singles are not allowed."
The music is a cocktail of soul, funky disco and pop – from 60s classics to modern days chart toppers.
Women can also request their favourite song by emailing Mother Funkers before the event.
The first Medway Mother Funkers takes place at the Corn Exchange, Northgate, Rochester on Friday, October 12 from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.
