Sound equipment from illegal rave is seized

KENT Police officers have seized stereo equipment that was being set up for an illegal rave in woodland.

Police were called to the land near St Margaret's, between Dover and Deal, on Sunday afternoon following reports about nuisance vehicles and a gathering of about 40 people.

It is understood the event was organised by the same people who had been responsible for setting up a rave in Kingsdown in mid Kent where around 250 people were dispersed by Kent Police early on Sunday morning.

Three men were arrested at that event, one from Deal and two from Canterbury. They have been released on bail while officers make further enquiries.

Insp Darren Mullins said: "Anyone planning to attend or organise a rave in the south Kent area should beware that we deal robustly with these incidents and take measures to intervene or disperse any raves including seizing sound equipment."
