Music lovers in search of space rock should set their intergalactic sights to the earthbound Pavilion at Sea Road in Westgate on Saturday night (November 22).
Space Ritual, featuring former Hawkwind originals Nik Turner(sax, flute, vox),Terry Ollis (drums) and Del Dettmar (axe synth), touches down to present an evening of creative music and arts that recalls concept shows from the heady days of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Margate keyboard, synth and mellotron maestro John Greves, another mainstay of the band, is featured, along with Mick Slattery (guitars), and Thomas Crimble (guitars, keys and backing vox).
They will be featuring music from their raft of albums including the most recent, the acclaimed Otherworld.
Support comes from Thanet-based Aurora, whose influences include the punk/dub feel of PIL and Killing Joke, Gong and Ozric Tentacles, The Egg, Eat Static, and the visual craziness of Arthur Brown and the Bonzo Dog Band.
