A WOMAN held in connection with the murder of a security guard in Challock, near Ashford, has been released without charge. Police released the unnamed 47-year-old after five days of questioning.

She was arrested on July 9, two days after Michael Wood, 48, of Lynsted Close, Stanhope, Ashford, was stabbed to death while guarding equipment at Fairview, Faversham Road.

The woman was released without bail, but Kent Police confirmed that inquiries are continuing.
