Stabbed teenager: Second man in court on murder charge

A SECOND man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a teenager in Kent. Michael Harwood, 32, was brought before magistrates on Saturday accused of stabbing to death 18-year-old Faridon Alizada at a flat in Verona House on the Larner Road estate in Erith on January 5.

Harwood, of no fixed address, was also charged at Barking Magistrates' Court, East London,with wounding a boy of 16 with intent to do him grievous bodily harm on the same date. He spoke only to confirm his identity.

Magistrate Kathy Brewster remanded Harwood in custody until a hearing at the Old Bailey in April.

Lee James,32, of no fixed address, appeared before Bexley Magistrates on Wednesday charged with the same offences as well as the attempted murder of another 16-year-old boy. He is also due before the Old Bailey in April.
