Staff to be quizzed as part of huge hospital survey

STAFF at Medway Maritime Hospital are going to be asked for their opinions on how it is run.

About 700 of them will be surveyed as part of the Healthcare Commission’s massive NHS staff survey.

They will be questioned on how many extra hours they work, whether they are properly supported by their managers, whether they have witnessed mistakes that could harm patients and violence from patients or their relatives, among other issues.

Altogether 250,000 NHS employees will be questioned in what is said to be the world's biggest staff survey.

Individual hospital results are published on the web.
