London families being moved to Kent

Britain's housing system has been branded "appalling" as growing numbers of London families are farmed out to Kent.

The practice is bad for the people being made to leave the areas where they grew up and work and also increases pressure on frontline services in the places they are moved to, says Shadow Housing Secretary Andrew Gywnne.

Housing Secretary James Brokenshire yesterday announced a £1.67 billion plan to build 23,000 affordable homes across England to improve social housing.
