A weather warning for thunderstorms, covering all of Kent, has been issued.
The Met Office yellow alert stretches from 12pm till midnight on Thursday.
It covers most of England, and experts are warning of heavy rain and lightning.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
“There is also a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.”
Furthermore, homes and businesses could suffer flooding and hail and strong winds could batter the county.
There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.
The exact location of the worst rain is not yet known, however “where the showers do occur they could be torrential, with the additional hazards of lightning, hail and gusty winds”.
Today there is a heat health alert in place, which is expected to stay until 11am on Wednesday.
The government has warned vulnerable people could be at risk as temperatures are set to soar to 27 degrees.
