ROUGH Common has been visited by a mysterious flying object, say residents.

Lights and a circular object were seen hovering above the village, near Canterbury, at just before 11pm on Monday night.

Eye-witness Sheila Turner, who lives in Rough Common Road, said: “It was very odd and seemed to consist of a round object and separate lights.

“My neighbour saw it and so did the man down the road saw it and he used to be a policeman so he must know what he’s talking about.

“It moved past my house and went down the road to the pub where it seemed to stay for a bit before coming back this way.”

Anne Manuel, who lives in St Stephen’s, also spotted it.

She said: “The lights moved from the front to the back of the house each time the wind blew.

“It was very quiet except for the wind. It did go through my mind it could be aliens and it was all a bit eerie.”
