Striker Tom Whitnell appears to have played his last game for Welling.

The forward, who scored 15 goals in 34 games this season, has failed to agree a new deal with Wings boss Jamie Day.

Whitnell was offered a reduced deal after a poor end to the season when he struggled after the departure of striker Andy Pugh, who was on loan from Gillingham.

Day (pictured) said: "I don't think he will be coming back. We offered him a deal and it's not going to change - we'll move on.

"He put something on the internet that didn't help his cause."

Day is in advanced negotiations with two strikers while he is also hoping to hold talks with forwards Rob Haworth and Jay May, who have both been released by Dartford.

Should Tom Whitnell stay at Welling? Are Rob Haworth and Jay May potentially good signings? Have your say using the comments section below.
