A STUDENT has been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy.

Miles Maddy, 18, from Bexley, is due to appear at Greenwich Magistrates' Court today accused of killing Sunday Essiet, from Bermondsey, who was stabbed to death in Plumstead last Tuesday.

Maddy, of Corraline Walk, off Lensbury Way, Thamesmead, was arrested on Thursday. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police homicide and serious crime command charged him on Sunday morning.

A 21-year-old man also arrested in connection with the murder was released on police bail until a date in March.
