Students are doing final preparations for the upcoming third annual Universities at Medway Boat Race.

Once again the teams of rowers will follow a 1.6 mile course between Cuxton and The Esplanade, Rochester on May 23.

The race is organized by the Universities of Medway Students’ Association (UMSA) and sponsored by the Rochester Bridge Trust.

The three universities - Kent, Greenwich and Canterbury Christ Church - will compete with both men’s and women’s teams taking part. The winners of the race will be rewarded with trophies and medals created by Medway artist Paula Groves.
