Students show creative side at Fort Amherst

A public display of artwork by Adult Education students will go on show at The Gate House, Fort Amherst in Chatham in February.

The work has been produced by students from the mixed media class at Gillingham Adult Education Centre, and highlights Chatham and Brompton as they are seen today, and through the eyes of the past.

Costs for the display have been met by the Chatham World Heritage Partnership Fund. Mixed media student Noreen Clare spotted the opportunity to apply for funds. “I’m delighted by the success of our application” she said “and hope local people and visitors will come and support the display in such a wonderful historic venue”.

The display can be seen on Monday, February 9 from 4pm to 8pm, Tuesday, February 10, from 4pm to 8pm, and Wednesday, February 11 from 10am to 3pm.

Some of the artworks will be for sale, and can be reserved during the event. Entry to the exhibition is free and there is no need to book in advance
