Students to learn the consequences of not paying attention to the road

Sorry, this video asset has been removed.

Next week young people across the county will be learning the consequences of not driving safely.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service's Licence to Kill theatre and film production will be staged in Canterbury, Maidstone and Medway in a bid to cut the number of young people dying on the county’s roads.

It features the personal testimonies of fire fighters, paramedics, police officers, families who have lost loved ones in road collisions, and young survivors of crashes on Kent’s Roads.

Kent’s Chief Fire Officer Bill Feeley said: "I went to see a production up in Gravesham and on the day there must have been something like a thousand school kids turn up.

"There was a lot of noise, a lot of excitement in the room and when our players started telling their personal stories about there involvement in some of these horrible road traffic accidents, some of them resulting in death or serious injury, I have never seen kids go so quiet.”
