Sub McDonald earns Gills the points

SUBSTITUTE Dean McDonald as Gillingham recorded a fine victory over title-chasing Bristol City at Priestfield on Easter Monday.

McDonald, a half-time replacement for Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, scored the only goal 10 minutes into the second half when he headed in Mark Bentley's cross.

Bristol City hit the woodwork twice as they pressed for an equaliser.

Gillingham: Larrieu, Southall, Cox, Chorley, Jackman, Bentley, Crofts, Flynn, Bastians (Easton 68), Spiller, Ndumbu-Nsungu (McDonald h-t).
Subs Not Used: Johnson, Tonge, Collin.
Attendance: 6,292.
