It has been six years since Suzuki launched its Swift supermini.
The car maker has now revealed that the compact hatchback has passed the two million unit milestone.
Since its launch in the UK in May 2005 more than 60,000 Swifts have been sold and it accounts for around 38 per cent of the UK sales mix.
An all new Swift was launched in September of last year.
Suzuk's Swift is a global player in terms of production - it was first built in Japan, followed by Hungary, China, India and more recently Indonesia and Malaysia.
Vehicles sold in Europe are built at the firm's Magyar plant in Hungary.
Globally, around 15 per cent of Swift sales are in Japan, 39 per cent in India and 27 per cent in Europe with the remainder from other world markets.
The Swift is driven in 124 countries and regions of the world and has won 67 awards in 26 countries.
