Olympic medal-winning swimmer Sharron Davies stayed on dry land to open Weston Homes' Swale Park development in Whitstable.

Sharron, 47, cut the ribbon marking the launch of the development, helped by Weston Homes chairman Bob Weston.

The first phase of the development of 236 houses and apartments can now be viewed. Properties include a two-bedroom coach house at £160,950 and a three-bedroom semi-detached house at £199,950.

Swale Park is on the Thanet Way on the outskirts of Whitstable and the homes come in a variety of sizes and architectural styles. They offer accommodation designed to appeal to a variety of purchasers from young professionals and first-time buyers to families.

Bob Weston, chairman and chief executive of Weston Homes, said: "Swale Park will offer high-quality, modern homes providing good value for money in this popular, fashionable part of the Kent coast, which combines seaside chic with a rich heritage and excellent transport links to London and the south east of England."
