A teacher who sexually assaulted a 19-year-old girl and took lewd photographs of her after she fell asleep has been warned he could face an indeterminate jail sentence.
Franck Zuffellato will also be punished for grooming a 13-year-old girl over the internet and downloading child sex abuse images.
Branding him a sexual predator, a judge said: "Clearly, he is going to get a substantial sentence."
Maidstone Crown Court heard how Zuffellato, said in court to work at the University of Kent in Canterbury, had invited his 19-year-old victim to his home in the city in January last year to play music.
Dominic Connolly, prosecuting, said Zuffellato, 35, took some photos of the woman with his digital camera so that she could update her Facebook page on the internet.
During the afternoon they drank alcohol and smoked cannabis. The woman then felt ill and was sick.
She went to sleep on the sofa and later woke up to find her shirt and bra had been pushed up and Zuffellato kneeling in front of her.
Mr Connolly said French-born Zuffellato had his hand on the woman's chest. He pulled down her trousers and underwear.
"She realised what was going on and was scared," he said. "She didn't want to let him know she was awake for fear of what he might do to her. He got his camera and decided to take pictures of her in a state of undress. She kept her eyes closed while feigning sleep."
Zuffellato committed sex acts with ber before she pretended to wake up. She told him she had to go and fled from the flat in All Saints' Lane.
The matter was reported and when officers seized Zuffellato's camera they found indecent close-up photos taken when she was asleep.
Zuffellato denied two charges of sexual assault but was convicted by a jury. He was remanded in custody for sentence at Canterbury Crown Court on October 5.
