A teacher at Canterbury High School risked her life to rescue two small children trapped in a blazing house.
Laura Jefferson was staying with her sister and brother-in-law in Knaves Ash, Headcorn, when fire broke out in a neighbour's house at just after 7.20pm on Sunday night.
Two children, a boy aged six and a girl of three, were trapped inside.
Miss Jefferson said she could hear the children screaming as they approached the house.
With the help of her sister Sarah-Jo Vane she broke through a garage door to gain access to the back of the house.

She said: "I scrabbled up some trellising and on to a conservatory roof. I could see the little girl huddled and the little boy was near the window. It was thick with smoke."
As the downstairs windows started to smash, Miss Jefferson managed to force open the window and tried unsuccessfully to pull the children out.
At this point her brother-in-law Anthony Vane put a ladder to the window and climbed up and grabbed the boy.
Miss Jefferson, who lives in Bethersden, said: "The smoke was so thick at this point that I didn't think Anthony would be able to get back up the ladder, but he did."
Mr Vane pulled the little girl free, and Miss Jefferson jumped from the conservatory roof.
She said: "There were bangs and explosions everywhere, we all just run for cover."
The children were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters were on the scene until 11.30pm.
The mother of the children has been bailed while police decide whether to prosecute her.
Dawn Nash, 40, of Knaves Acre was detained on suspicion of child neglect.
The fire is not thought to be suspicious.
