A teenager has admitted killing a 25-year-old man with a single punch outside a Margate nightclub.
Charlie McBride pleaded guilty to manslaughter when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Friday.
The 19-year-old delivered the fatal blow to Richard Collier outside the Kabuki club in Marine Gardens in the early hours of June 25.
The victim, who lived in Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate, was taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate, but died later that day from a head injury.
McBride, of Sutton, Surrey, sat in the dock with his head bowed after entering his guilty plea.
Families of both McBride and Mr Collier sat on opposite sides of the court during the brief hearing.
Sentence was adjourned after Denzil Pugh, prosecuting, said matters were still very raw for the victim's family members and they wanted time to prepare statements.
Judge Philip Statman said: "They must be in a situation where they can sit down and write with care their thoughts."
Annette Henry, defending, said McBride was not making any application for bail as he knew there would be a custodial sentence.
"He understands fully and wants to be punished for this matter," she added.
The victim is the son of John and Isobel Collier, of Blenheim Place, Folkestone.
He attended Harvey Grammar School and then worked part-time in his father's property investment business. He played poker on-line and at tournaments.
His father is a district and town councillor for Morehall in the town.
Mr and Mrs Collier are considering setting up a permanent memorial to their son.
