Teenage bike race victim is named

A YOUNG man who died in hospital after a motorbike racing accident at the Lydden circuit near Dover has been named by Kent Police.

He was James Fennings, 18, of Conyerd Road, Borough Green, who had been competing in a Rookie 400 event of the British Motorcycle Racing Club championships when he was involved in a collision with another cyclist.

He was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, where he died from his injuries, which included a fractured skull.

The accident happened on Sunday, April 3. An inquest has been opened and adjourned. Mr Fennings, a gardener, had been 12th in the Rookie 400 championship.
