Teenager bailed over Walderslade crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspected stolen car was involved in a crash in Walderslade Village.

The accident happened close to Robin Hood Lane at 12.50pm on Monday.

The driver of the stolen car was chased by two passers-by as he tried to flee the scene but he was eventually caught by the police and arrested.

A 17-year-old boy was held on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for Medway police said: "Police would like to thank the two passers-by who during the incident attempted to stop the suspect from running away.

"We would urge them to make contact with us at the earliest opportunity and ask that any other witnesses or anyone with any other information also come forward."
