Teenager dies in reservoir tragedy

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has drowned in a Kent reservoir. The teenager had been swimming with four friends in a Romney Marsh reservoir.

The boy, thought to be from the New Romney area, got into difficulties and was seen to go under the water and police were called at 11.35am on Saturday.

Sussex Rescue Diving Team was also called and the boy's body was recovered at 6.45pm that evening from the reservoir on Hook Lane.

Police are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
