Teenager hurt in knife attack

A teenager has been stabbed in the back and leg after an
incident in Strood overnight.

The 18-year-old had three wounds,
which are not thought to be life-threatening, during the incident
in Holly Road, said to have taken place between 6 and 7pm.

A 17-year-old was later
arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and six others, aged
between 15 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of violent
disorder.

Police were called to the road
following reports of a disturbance.

The injured teeanger, who is
believed to live in Strood, needed stitches.

Det Ann Lisseman said: "All of the
people in police custody are known to each other and we are
questioning them at Medway Police Station.

"Fortunately the victim in this
assault did not receive serious injuries."
