Teenager hurt outside shop

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was hurt in an incident outside the Londis shop in Dover Road, Walmer.

The girl, aged 15, had met two girls who were known to her at Walmer Train Station at 6pm on Thursday, September 11.

One of them was said to have asked to see her mobile ‘phone and when she refused one of the girls allegedly punched her in the face.

It is believed that the other girl then hit the victim with an umbrella before she was dragged to a field in Liverpool Road where a resident intervened.

The girl was taken to the QEQM where she was treated for various minor injuries.

Two girls aged 15 have been interviewed by police and are on bail while further inquiries are made.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
