A teenager has been seriously injured after the van he was driving overturned near Ashford.

The 19-year-old man was airlifted to hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

The crash happened in Ashford Road, Kingsnorth, at just before 1pm.

The Renault van overturned across a metal barrier beside the road, crashing into parked vehicles before landing upright. The driver was trapped in the badly damaged van.

The teenager was flown to King's College Hospital, in London, where he remains today.

Ashford Road was closed between the golf centre and Hornash Lane until 2.20pm.
