A young fund-raiser has scooped a top award and £20,000 for her favourite charity.

Nicole Dryburgh, from Seasalter, was last night named Britain’s Most Inspiring Fund-raiser 2008 at a ceremony in London.

The 19-year-old was delighted to win: "It is absolutely amazing and a real honour." Since she was diagnosed with spinal cancer aged 11 Nicole has raised thousands of pounds for children’s charities.
