A GANG of teenage girls beat up and robbed a group of pupils outside their school gates.

At least ten children, aged between 12 to 15, from Hayes Secondary School in West Common Road, Hayes, were attacked as they made their way home at about 3.30pm on Monday.

Each one was forced to hand over their valuables as they fought with their attackers.

The gang, who police put at about 15 to 19 years old, then made off by jumping on buses travelling towards Bromley town centre. Police have since made two arrests.

Det Ch Insp Peter Sturge, of Bromley’s Robbery Squad, said: “No weapons were used. This is an isolated incident and very unusual in this borough.

“We need anyone who has information or witnessed the incident to come forward and help us with our investigation.”

Head Teacher Kieran Osborne, said: “Thankfully all the victims are ok. There were no injuries but they are obviously distressed and shocked. Hayes school is fortunate in being located in a good quality environment and an incident of this kind is very rare.”
