A predatory paedophile hurled a bible in the direction of a judge and shouted: "Where's your forgiveness, your Honour? I said I would not re-offend."
Religious David Glancey staged the protest after hearing he was being locked up indefinitely for public protection.
He also warned he would kill himself while in prison, calling out to the public gallery: "That's the last you will see of me, mum."
Glancey, of Maidstone Road, Rochester, will have to serve a minimum of two years one month before he can be considered for parole.
He admitted arranging the commission of a child sex offence and nine charges of possessing indecent images of children.
Maidstone Crown Court heard Glancey, 29, previously incited a child to commit an act of gross indecency in Lincolnshire and was put on a sex offender programme.
Police raided his home in January this year during an investigation started by Canadian police into the distribution of child sex abuse images.
Jo Cope, prosecuting, said Glancey was living at a multi-occupancy house run by an altruistic Christian family.
Computer equipment was seized and 279 child sex abuse images, some of which were at the highest levels of four and five, were found.
Mrs Cope said Glancey placed an advert on the internet requesting children under the age of 12 to abuse them.
When arrested, he said the allegations were disgusting.
He was released on bail but when contacted by an undercover police officer on sites including Facebook, he told him he was looking for pre-teen hardcore material.
Glancey also claimed he managed to avoid detection by hiding a memory stick in his backside. He wanted to be put in touch with people with webcams so that he could watch "naughty dances".
The prosecutor said Glancey showed an interest in meeting girls aged 10-12 and said he would pay to commit sex acts with them.
He met up with the officer and was arrested.
Judge David Griffith-Jones QC told Glancey: "Your actions were deliberate, planned and may be categorised as predatory."
He added if he had imposed a determinate sentence, it would have been one of four years two months.
Glancey's name will appear on sex offenders' register for life.
