The great house price slide

Even when you've made it on to the property ladder your problems are not over.

For house prices are seeing a tumble throughout Kent - with some falling by as much as 38 per cent.

And it seems there are few areas across the county immune to the great house price slide.

According to propertysnake.co.uk, the website which tracks house price falls, it is a tough time for property sales.

Top of the list is a home in Crockenhill, near Swanley, which has seen a fall of a cool £1.25million, and has been on the market for more than 200 days.

But even at the other end of the property ladder it's not safe: a two-bedroom home in Maidstone has fallen by nearly a third, from £230,000 to just under £160,000.
