If looking out your window at a river lifts your spirits then there might be a good scientific reason for that.
Staff at Countryside Properties’ Riverside Quarter development at St Mary’s Island, Chatham, were interested to see a report that stretches of water like the River Medway can have a good impact on well-being.
According to the research by health and wellbeing expert professor Michael Depledge, all ‘blue space’ such as the sea, lakes, rivers and even urban water features have an important positive impact on wellbeing.
Tony Travers, of Countryside Properties, was already pretty sure the water views were a winner for putting smiles on faces.
He said: “The results of this research demonstrate the positive impact that living by the water has to people’s health and wellbeing.
"The apartments at Riverside Quarter enjoy amazing views for people to relax and unwind watching the river itself and there are water sports facilities nearby for the many people who enjoy sailing and windsurfing on the river.
“There is even a marina just a short walk away for people looking to live on the island and moor their boat nearby.”
Five two-bedroom apartments remain at Riverside Quarter and start from £185,000. Under the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, a 5% deposit of £9,250 is required, a mortgage to be arranged for £138,750 and the balance of £37,000 is provided by the Help to Buy equity loan.
Each of the two bedroom apartments at Riverside Quarter enjoys fantastic waterside views. Spaciously designed with an open plan living, dining and kitchen space, each property has a balcony, all of which overlook the River Medway.
All homes have en-suite shower rooms and fitted wardrobes to the master bedroom, as well as a family bathroom.
