Family man Danny King looks tanned and relaxed while on holiday in Spain with his wife Sylvia.

Three weeks later, he was dead, shot four times in bed at his home in Ditton, near Maidstone, while three of his grandchildren slept nearby.

His widow gave this photograph to the Kent Messenger, and another of him with his entire family, on holiday.

Mrs King said: “Danny was a lovely family man and we are still trying to take in what has happened.”

She also revealed how Mr King, 51, had donated a kidney to son Joe last year.

Three of the couple’s grandchildren, aged two, eight and 10, were staying at their house when their grandfather was killed.
