Ashford resident gets suspended sentence for assault
Steven Frazer, of The Bulrushes, Ashford, assaulted a man in Mortimer Close, Ashford.
Magistrates sentenced the 31-year-old to 160 days in prison, suspended for two years, and ordered him to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £620 costs, £200 compensation and a £115 victim surcharge.
Razor shoplifter strikes in Margate
Justin Bryan Baker, of The Tideway, Rochester, stole four packs of razor blades worth £38 from a shop in High Street, Margate.
Magistrates sentenced the 32-year-old to 28 days in prison, suspended for one year.
Thanet man jailed and banned
Kristaps Farenhorste, of Lower Northdown Avenue, Margate, took a Volvo without the owner’s consent and drove it in Godwyn Road, Deal, while disqualified and with no insurance. He also gave a breath test of 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Magistrates sentenced the 20 year old to 140 days in prison and banned him from driving for three years and 70 days. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Burglar, who took an Audi, sent to prison
Mark Anthony John Heard, of Alexandra Road, Ramsgate, burgled an address in Grove Road, Ramsgate, with the intent to steal.
He also stole an Audi A4 worth £3,000 from Grange Road, Ramsgate.
Magistrates sentenced the 35-year-old to 26 weeks in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
Man took protein shakes and hair dye
Lee William Quigley, of no fixed address, stole protein shakes, medical items and hair dye worth £86.99 from a supermarket in Sturry Road, Canterbury.
He also had a metal baseball bat and a knuckle duster in Castle Street, Canterbury.
Magistrates ordered the 31-year-old to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay a £175 fine, £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
Broadstairs teen was over the limit
Molly Malyn, of Church Street, Broadstairs, drove a Mini One in Albion Road, Broadstairs, and gave a blood test of 167 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.
Magistrates banned the 19-year-old from driving for 20 months. She must also pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Dover resident found to be drink driving
Sarah King, of Chaucer Crescent, Dover, drove a Volkswagen Polo in London Road, Dover, and gave a breath test of 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Magistrates banned the 24-year-old from driving for 22 months. She must also pay a £267 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
Woman stole toaster and kettle
Zoe Elizabeth Pajak, of Alderney Way, Ashford, stole a toaster and kettle worth £199.95 from a shop in Fougeres Way, Ashford.
Magistrates sentenced the 40-year-old to 21 days in prison. She must also pay £199 compensation.
Dover man failed to give breath test
Karl Ivan Shopland, of Tower Street, Dover, failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Canterbury.
Magistrates sentenced the 50-year-old to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, banned him from driving for three years and gave him a 12-week curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 5am daily. The curfew runs until 28 November 2017. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
Ramsgate resident assaulted man
Soyed Zahib Salari, of Manston Road, Ramsgate, assaulted a man at a restaurant in High Street, Herne Bay.
Magistrates ordered the 24-year-old to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £200 compensation, £400 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
Man caused damage to cars
Aaron John Smith, of Wellington Crescent, Ramsgate, caused damage worth an unknown amount to seven cars in Denmark Road, Ramsgate, and St Luke’s Avenue, Ramsgate.
Magistrates sentenced the 34-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for two years, ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and gave him a three-month curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 7am daily. The curfew runs until 6 December 2017. He must also pay £3,630 compensation.
Ashford man given unpaid work
Vaidotas Cesna, of Juniper Close, Ashford, assaulted a man and damaged his shirt at Cobbswood Industrial Estate, Ashford. The assault was racially aggravated.
Magistrates ordered the 51-year-old to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £200 compensation, £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Phone and meat thief jailed
Gemma Kaye Gurr, of Hampton Crescent, Gravesend, stole a mobile phone and a set of keys worth an unknown amount from a man at an address in York Road, Gravesend. She also stole meat worth an unknown amount from a shop in Whinfell Way, Gravesend.
Magistrates sentenced the 28-year-old to 60 days in prison. She must also pay £50 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.
Community centre burglar stole phone and card
Jamie Francisco Ceballos, of Priory Road, Gillingham, burgled a community centre in Richmond Road, Gillingham, and stolen a bank card and an iPhone worth £300.
He also stole laundry tablets worth £54 from a shop in High Street, Gillingham.

Jonathan Robert Lea, of Luton Road, Chatham, sent sexual text messages and a photo of his penis to a woman, with the purpose of causing distress or anxiety.

Blair Graham Crittenden, of River Street, Gillingham, drove a Ford Focus in Corporation Street, Rochester, while disqualified and with no insurance.

Flapjack thief assaulted two men
Tanya Louise Hazel Riley, of Packer Place, Chatham, stole flapjacks worth £3.96 and assaulted two men at a shop in High Street, Chatham.

Dartford man took chocolates and coffee
Adam Lee Roberts, of Cornwall Road, Dartford, stole chocolates and coffee worth £90.97 from a shop in Colney Road, Dartford.
Magistrates sentenced the 30-year-old to 60 days in prison. Because the offence was committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence, the overall length of his sentence is 180 days. He must also pay £90 compensation and a £115 victim surcharge.
Suspended sentence for West Malling man
Robert Joseph Donovan, of Aldon Lane, West Malling, damaged car windows worth £500 on a vehicle in Walpole Close, East Malling.
