The Met Office has warned of icy conditions and wintry showers in Kent.
A yellow weather warning is in place for large parts of the county, with plunging temperatures expected to bring challenging conditions to the roads and railways.
The forecast suggests snow could fall in some places today (Monday), with sleet showers also likely in parts.
Kent Highways has confirmed it treated all primary routes overnight in an effort to reduce the impact of the icy conditions.
Similar efforts have been taking place in Medway.
The Met Office weather warning, which came into effect from 4am and remains in place until 10am, covers a significant portion of west and mid-Kent, including Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone, and takes in part of Ashford.
People are warned that some roads and railways are likely to be affected by ice, and in a few places by snow, leading to longer journey times.
Icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths will also make accidents or injuries more likely.
