The property ladder beckons

First-time buyers have the chance to step on the property ladder at two developments at Dartford.

Thanks to an initiative at Taylor Wimpey's The Bridge first-time buyers no longer need a huge deposit.

A shared equity scheme lets qualifying purchasers secure selected one and two-bedroom apartments from the development in the heart of the Thames Gateway for just 75% of the full price tag.

With Taylor Wimpey and Dartford Borough Council providing a 25-year interest-free loan for the remaining 25% of the purchase price, that means first-time buyers can secure apartments at The Bridge for as little as £89,625.

To find out more visit the sales and marketing suite off Brunel Way, Bob Dunn Way. It'™s open daily from 10am to 5pm. Alternatively call 0845 026 3678.

Also in Dartford, Crest Nicholson is offering a helping hand with its EasyBuy scheme at Hardy's Gate.

The offer is available on two-bedroom coach houses at Hardy's Gate which are ideal for young professionals and couples taking their first steps onto the housing ladder.

With EasyBuy purchasers can own 100% of their own home and pay only 85% of the price. A Farleigh coach house priced at £189,500, therefore, becomes a more affordable £161,075 with the scheme.

Buyers pay no rent or interest for the first five years and the outstanding loan amount is paid back as a percentage of the property's value at any time up to resale or after 10 years, whichever comes sooner.
